“I was in classes with 25 to 30 people at a time, drilled the same moves for an hour or more, and we had no idea if we were doing it right or what we needed to fix. The coach was always busy, or on their phone. Every time I come here…I feel like I’m getting a private lesson and personal attention on what I need to fix and improve.””
YOU ARE NOT THE PUNCHING BAG!
Friendly atmosphere with teammates vested in your improvement. Not using you as a punching bag for their own advancement.
“I was a paycheck at the other gym. They didn’t care that I was there. They used me as their training dummy while I was left to flounder. My regret is that I took so long to quit. I’m happy though as now I’ve found a better place.”

“Having been a student of Randy’s for some time now, I believe that the biggest success is the overwhelming sense of community. Your peers become your friends. Everyone is willing to help everyone else. There is no ego. No one looks down on you because you’re a lower level, or because you’re new. In fact, you’re welcomed with open arms, and genuine excitement.”
STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE
Clean and professional gym & teammates.
“I came to learn legitimate fighting skills. Praying Mantis style Sanshou turned out to be everything I was looking for, and more. Later I began studying Brazilian jiujutsu here as well. In addition to a continuously improving skillset, I have also made friends, improved my lifestyle and fitness, and my eating habits. The place is clean, fellow students friendly, and the teachers are no BS. For all those reasons, I am still studying here. Get on the mat and put in the work - they’ll help you get the results you want.”

My coaching style is not for everyone, and I know that. I expect a lot, but I know you can achieve it. I am invested in you, and I expect the same in return. So before applying for a spot on the team, or enrolling your child here, you should know a few things:
Apply to join the team if:

You want a culture of good people invested in their own success as well as yours.
You want to Invest time and effort into your training in AND out of class. A lifestyle.

Do NOT apply if:
You want a coach who is in their office, on their phone, talking up the attractive girl, or hanging out on social media as is found in a myriad of other gyms out there. I’m here to train you.
You want a casual environment where you show up occasionally without the effort.
You want a daycare for your child while you run errands.

““Challenging. Mentally Engaging. So much more than just a workout. That’s why I stuck with it over all these years.””
“I’ve always enjoyed martial arts and I find it to be one of the best ways to maintain fitness without it seeming like a chore. Martial arts isn’t like doing time on a treadmill, you’re learning a new skill and it requires rapt attention while you’re doing it, so the time goes by quickly and the sense of accomplishment is greater. There’s also a sense of community and camaraderie at the good schools like this one.””
“Learn new impactful and practical skills. Get in shape. Welcoming and supportive training environment. Encouraged to try new things, explore with minimal risk, form new habits, and be able to ask questions. Getting to hang out with Lily (our dog).””
“Gaining strength and confidence. Making new friendships.””
