The 3 Primary Strike Blocks of Mantis Boxing

This mission is designed to be repeated as many times as you feel necessary. If using as a review, perform less reps. Southpaws (left-handed) reverse everything.

  1. Choose a Warm-up before proceeding with this training mission.

  2. Circle In Block - Perform this 200x.

  3. Circle Out Block - Perform this 200x.

  4. Upper Block - Perform this 200x.

  2. Folding Upper Block - Perform this 200x.

  3. Middle Block - Perform this 200x.

  4. Rolling Inside Block - Perform this 200x.

  2. 3 Level Drill - Fixed - Perform this sequence 300x.

    1. Upper Block (L/R)

    2. Circle In Block High (L/R)

    3. Circle in Block Low (L/R)

Close-In Block Combos

  2. Close In Blocking ‘3-Strike combinations’:

    1. Circle | Circle | Upper - 50x

    2. Circle | Upper | Rolling - 50x

    3. Upper | Rolling | Circle - 50x

    4. Upper | Circle | Rolling - 50x

Testing Drill - 3 Level Blocking - Random

Blocking Course - Mission 6

“Shadow Blocking”

This mission is designed to be repeated as many times as you feel necessary. If using as a review, perform less reps. Southpaws (left-handed) reverse everything. 

  1. Choose a Warm-up before proceeding with this training mission.

  2. Standard Blocks* - throw combinations of 3-5 RANDOM blocks 100x. Reset your guard in between each combination.

  3. Close-In Blocks* - throw combinations of 3-5 RANDOM blocks 100x. Reset your guard in between each combination.

*Alternate method - set a timer for a 3 minute round. Perform 3 rounds with a 1 minute rest in between each round.
